Incredible Blogger Marathon Challenge #06
You are given a poem, picture and a word. You will combine all and write a post. All the three have to be interlinked in your post. They can be used in any context.
Poem: In, search of skin, color no matter, brighter or darker, tell no one, I will take someone, Ssssshhhhh! – ghost, me!
I got a message on my telephone. Looking out from my window at sunset.
I heard this:
In, search of skin, color no matter, brighter or darker, tell no one, I will take someone, Ssssshhhhh! – ghost, me!
It made me shiver. The air continued to chill me as I stepped outside and thought about the message.
Who could have sent it? What kind of twisted mind would leave this message on my phone?
I decided it must be a freaky prank caller. But there was no caller ID attached to it.
As the wind continued to blow, I hurried back inside and enclosed myself in the warmth of my house.
My own skin was starting to warm up as I was enclosed in the outer skin of my secure dwelling.
I turned on the news. Images of floods and hurricanes in Florida passed before my view.
I switched the channel to the History channel and saw a show about Vesuvius. It showed how a whole village was buried and skeletons were hugging each other, buried under soil. Their natural skins gone, these dead ones had only dust and grime to cover their bones now.
The thought settled upon me. My covers and shelters will only last so long. It is only my ghost that will be free to move and be taken away to what realm I know not. The message had sunk in. We are all in the same boat.
